OPTICS PRISMS
In optics, a prism is a transparent optical element with a flat polished surface that can refract light. There is an angle between at least two flat surfaces, and the exact angle of the surface depends on the application. The traditional geometry is a triangular prism with a triangular base and rectangular edges, and the colloquial use of "prism" usually refers to this type. Some types of optical prisms are not actually the shape of geometric prisms. The prism can be made of any material transparent to the wavelength of its design
